VAIL
HONEYWAGON’S CURBSIDE RECYCLING PROGRAM
Vail Honeywagon’s recycling
program is the result of our customers commitment
and our commitment to the environment. By recycling,
together we are doing our part to save natural resources,
conserve landfill space, and save energy. Curbside
recycling is the most convenient way for our customers
to get involved in the process, so we encourage you
to please do it and do it right!
When & Where ...Recycling pick-ups
are made every other week on the same day as
your trash collection. Be sure to have your recycling
on the curb by 8a.m. Please take into account our rapid
weather changes. Use common sense - place a heavy object
on recycling that might get blown around. Our drivers
will not clean up recycling that has been scattered
by wind or animals! Cover newspaper on rainy days!
What & How ...Household recycling
is easy. Just follow these instructions when you place
the items in the Vail Honeywagon recycle bins.
Bin # 1: Newspaper & Office
Paper Place loose newspaper, including inserts and
office paper, in the bin. On windy or rainy days cover
the paper. No phonebooks, magazines, junkmail, “cereal
boxes”, cardboard, or day-glow paper.
Bin # 2: Co-mingled
Glass, Plastics, and Aluminum
Glass -Please remove
the lids and rinse the bottles and jars. All colors
of glass are currently accepted. No ceramics, light
bulbs, plate glass, or glassware.
Aluminum Cans -All
aluminum or steel food cans. Please rinse and flatten.
Plastics -Please rinse
and remove lids. Flatten large containers. Acceptable
plastic containers are those with either one of the
two symbols shown below stamped on the bottom. Generally
their openings are smaller than the body of the container.

Plastic grocery bags should be recycled
at your local grocery store. Sorry, plastic without
one of the above symbols is not currently recyclable.
Please see above schedule for recycle
and holiday schedule.
Holiday Scheduling
Vail Honeywagon
observes 6 holidays each year:
• New
Year's Day |
• Labor
Day |
• Memorial
Day |
• Thanksgiving
Day |
• 4th
of July |
• Christmas
Day |
If one of these holidays falls during
the work week (on or before your regular day) your
trash / recycle pick-up will be made one day later
for the remainder of the holiday week. If a holiday
falls on a Saturday or Sunday, your pick-up day does
not change. For example, if Christmas is on Wednesday,
Wednesday service will shift to Thursday. Thursday
service shifts to Friday and Friday service shifts
to Saturday. The following Monday regular service resumes.
The schedule for dumpster accounts
will be treated on an individual basis. |
